Worthing Pool Complex
Background
CACE Supported EMCOR Engineering Services to provide the mechanical and electrical services for a new £18 million pool complex, which was been billed as the most significant development in Worthing for a decade.
The new complex includes a six lane, 25 metre competition pool, a combined learner/diving pool, indoor leisure pool with flume and outdoor splash pool. There is also a 100-station health and fitness centre, cafe, creche and flexible space for community activities. Both the learner/diving pool and 25m pool have movable floors which allow flexibility for water polo and swimming lessons.
Due to its unique seafront location each pool with its own terrace, opening up the facade to animate the beachfront elevation and in line with the Council’s aspirations to promote an Active Beach Zone.
Worthing Borough Council, Said:
“In these difficult financial times we have to get maximum value for our budget. The town has waited many years for its new pool and it is now becoming a reality. We will end up with enhanced facilities and the best health and fitness suite on the south coast. Specifications and costings are also being developed by the design team to ensure the town gets as much as it can for its money.”
